报告人简介:
李龙博士先后在中国科学技术大学获得学士和硕士学位,在美国Lehigh大学获得博士学位,并在巴黎地球物理研究所(IPGP)和多伦多大学(Univ. of Toronto)从事博士后研究。目前任职于加拿大阿尔伯塔大学(Univ. of Alberta)地球与大气科学系任助理教授,同时也是加拿大研究学会稳定同位素专业主席(Canada Research Chair)。常年从事稳定同位素研究,主要利用C、N、S、Cl等元素的同位素体系来研究高温地幔、地壳过程以及低温地表生物地球化学过程。以第一作者和通讯作者在Nature Communications、Earth and Planetary Science Letters、Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta、Chemical Geology、Journal of Geophysical Research等期刊发表论文十余篇。
Abstract:
Carbon and nitrogen are two most important elements on Earth’s surface and can impact the physicochemical properties of the mantle and the core. Understanding Earth’s carbon and nitrogen cycles has been a major goal of Earth system science for more than a decade. However, whether crustal carbon and nitrogen can be subducted into the mantle beyond the arc depth is still hotly debated. In this talk, I will present some of our recent studies to show that subducted carbon and nitrogen in the slab can survive the arc “subduction barrier” to be further delivered into the deeper mantle.
